Today marks the one year anniversary of Wiz’s historic release of arguably the greatest and most popular mixtape of all-time “Kush and Orange Juice.” In a digital era where an artist needs a daily presence on the internet to survive, Wiz turned this release into his personal entrance into the mainstream several months before “Black and Yellow” would reach #1 on the Billboard charts. The project was released in full on Wiz’s twitter and would soon catch the attention of the world becoming the #1 search and trending topics on Google and Twitter. The fact that #kushandorangejuice remained a top trending topic on Twitter for 3 plus days cements this as one of the best marketing moves in the digital era and quite possibly was the greatest free project/mixtape to ever be released.
